The Battle of the Romans and Carthaginians, 1 September<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Battle of the Romans and Carthaginians kicks off on Saturday 1 September and commemorates the islands rich history and culture. The residents of San Antonio dress up as the Carthaginians while Sant Augusti dress as Romans to re-enact a battle from the Punic wars. The scene culminates in a tomato fight between the two groups, which is then followed by an evening of live music, pop up bars, barbeques and carnival rides to keep the little ones entertained. Much is prepared before the evening of the tomato throwing, but otherwise, the community can join in the festivities from around 18:00 on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

Ibiza Jazz Festival, 6-9 September <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Landing on the 5 September, the Ibiza Jazz Festival graces the island for five days, bringing with it wonderful music performances from acclaimed, international jazz artists. This year the festival will be celebrating its 30th<\/sup> edition, marking its milestone with a series of performances from artists such as Mar\u00eda Toro, Pablo Mart\u00edn Caminero and composers Eli Degibri and S\u00edlvia P\u00e9rez Cruz. The first concert takes place at Plaza Sotavila, and the following days in the beautiful setting of bastion of Santa Lucia in the Dalt Vila, and the special series of events culminates with a closing show at the\u00a0Reina Sof\u00eda park.<\/p>\n

Beer-lovers on the island should mark their diaries for the 14 September, during which time the Ibiza Beer Festival comes to the Ibiza Town for two days.
