Getting around Ibiza -2023

Getting around Ibiza isn’t always the easiest task, especially if you’re looking to visit the more ‘unknown’ spots on the island.

It can be tricky finding your way around, especially out of season. Thankfully, with summer comes more frequent access to public transport. Making it easier for you to get from a to b, without too much fuss.

If you’re looking to visit all the main clubs then taxis are by far the quickest option, especially if you’re staying a fair distance from them. They are however not the cheapest option. A trip from San Antonio to Playa den Bossa costs anywhere between 40€-50€, depending on traffic. Taxis are run on a meter here, so set fares aren’t an option.

Whilst they are the most convenient choice, they aren’t always the most pocket friendly.

With that being said, they are more than handy from getting to where you need to be in comfort. Often worth the money spent, especially in this heat!

If you’re watching the pennies, then there are other solutions available.

In-season you can also hop on the ‘Disco Bus‘. This reliable option heads to and from all the big clubs, and travels between the main resorts of Playa den Bossa and San Antonio. Running throughout the night.

Starting on 2nd June, you’ll be able to get to your chosen club for a mere fraction of a taxi ride, costing just 3€*. Multi-trip tickets are also available at a discount.

Please note, there are a lot of pirate taxis here, waiting outside clubs offering paid rides home. Whilst many are just looking to make extra cash on the side, there are also a number of shady characters about. They’re also not insured for carrying you. If anything goes wrong, there won’t be much you can do about it. We recommend using the white licensed taxis, or the Disco Bus.

For days out then there are numerous busses running from San Antonio and Ibiza Town, which head to most of the popular locations for holiday makers.

Experience day trips to Portinatx, Benirrás, Salines and more. You can even hop on the bus and head to the famous Hippie Market at Las Dalias.

Time consuming maybe, worth it in the end? Most definitely.

If you’re travelling in a group of more than 4 people, please note that the maximum capacity for taxis here is just that, four people. 4 cases, hand luggage and 4 of you in one taxi is pretty much impossible. Peak season can also bring long waits for one outside the airport too. We suggest getting a private transfer arranged prior to arrival. Saving you time, stress and often money!

For smaller groups a taxi is perfect, or you can get on the bus!

If you have a driving licence then we highly recommend renting a car during your stay. You’ll be able to visit places that you can’t always reach via public transport. It’s worth it if you want to explore, and get off the beaten track. Contact Moto Luis for more information.
